Cuban Square Vršovice

Olga Saprynskaya

Annotation

Cuban Square is indeed called a square, but it doesn't have a completely classic appearance. This is influenced by its irregular shape, the absence of a dominant feature, and a lack of activities that would bring life to the square. The design of the square, therefore, focused on questions such as: What defines Vršovice? Why does Cuban Square look the way it does? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the square's surroundings? What should be created on the square to make it suitable for gatherings? How to design the square to be refined, yet with sufficient greenery? How to retain elements of the current square while making it modern? The presented design attempts to answer all of these questions.
