Annotation

Prometheus hung high above the cliffs, pinned so tightly to the rock that he could not move. But he did not ask the gods for mercy, he endured his suffering with his head held high. When Zeus saw that Prometheus could not be conquered, he sent a great eagle after him, which flew to Prometheus every day, tearing his liver from his body with its sharp beak and feeding on it. At night, Prometheus' liver grew back. And so it would be forever. But even then, Prometheus did not forgive Zeus and patiently endured his fate.
