Desert by the river

Sahara housing estate in Libčice nad Vltavou is a very unique place, thanks to its topography. Steep slope practically cuts the settlement in half and creates a physical barrier there. In this proposal for revitalization of public space, I am trying to use the potential of the terrain and not fight against it or see it as a problem. I am creating a new multifunctional public space with the dramatic slope being a part of it. The site is also interconnected with remade road network, and the vicinity of the buildings is not forgotten either. The main goal of this project is to transform the public space of the Sahara into a warm and welcoming environment that residents of the settlement can perceive as a part of their home. Because why people living in flats could not have their "garden"...
