Libeň line

Annotation

Western Libeň Island is the neglected, overlooked, and forgotten sibling of the Eastern Island. The latter has garnered all the glory, starred in films, and is loved for its strong, human atmosphere of the garden colony. Meanwhile, the Western Island has been left with only car dealerships and vast fenced-off areas of nothingness. The proposal seeks a way to bring Western Libeň Island to the center of attention. How to groom, feed, and clothe the neglected sibling. The project also aims for the harmony of the two islands and the preservation of the spirit of the place. The central idea is a transition from the urban landscape (with its constrained, strict parks, sidewalks, cafes, and orthogonal lines) to a freer, almost romantic landscape.
