Rectors' Alley

Bezruč Square in Opava is empty, yet it is located in the centre of the city, in front of the buildings of the Silesian University. The Avenue of Rectors brings life to it and reminds us of the importance of the Silesian University for the whole region. It places 20 pedestals in the square, on which statues of the university's rectors will be gradually placed. The pedestals are complemented by a new linden tree plantation and a walkway that used to end in the middle of the square.
