You walk out the door and unlock your bike. You ride down a long street with houses and trees, feeling the smooth asphalt and gravel under your wheels. As you listen, you hear the gravel fly off and fall back to the asphalt, you hear a squeak, maybe it's time to oil the bike. When you speed up, you can hear the wind. You cross the main street and turn towards a former factory. You pass greenhouses, playgrounds, you see a forgotten ball, then you pass another cyclist. You ride through the underpass and then you're in the centre. You see kids on the way to school, garbage men, pigeons at the fountain. You stop, jump off, lock your bike, and look forward to getting back on it in the afternoon and riding to the train station, shop, football match, library, bus station, park, work, pub...
