A Creek, a Train and a Train. And Then What Happens?

The park under the old station building in Prague-Hostivař is part of the area that is about to undergo dramatic changes in the form of the New Centre of Hostivař. We can only imagine the future urbanism in outline. However, the proposed park seeks to fully complement it and anticipates the challenges and functions it will bring. The designed area includes the cosy Kozmíkova housing estate. A phenomenon of the entire transformation area is the Měcholupský Brook, which is currently partially dammed. The aim of the proposal is primarily to find a compromise. On the one hand, there are transit functions arising from the wider context of the area. On the other hand, the identity of the local settlement and the natural and educational value of the Měcholupský Brook.
