ZLIN RAILWAY STATION - CENTRE, LAWNS

Kristýna Dusílková

Annotation

Zlín is a regional city with a rectangular street network. Before the Bata empire was established, Zlín was a manor town. The village of Trávníky was located in the area where the present railway station Zlín-Střed is located until 1983, when it was closed by the construction of a new bus station. However, the existing train station dates back to 1899 and is therefore based on the urban structure of the settlement at that time. The proposal seeks to respond to the current situation and at the same time to highlight the history of the site with its unusual shape.
