Český Brod was once a significant market town with many important historical landmarks. However, the social life that should thrive in the heart of the city—its historical center—has been overtaken by automobile traffic. This shift has drastically altered the appearance of Hus Square and Arnošta z Pardubice Square, fragmenting their areas and transforming them from vibrant public spaces into mere streets. The redesign aims to restore the space's original significance, creating a cohesive and inviting area that encourages people to spend a pleasant day in the shade of old lime trees and medieval buildings. The plan is to establish suitable conditions for various events to attract residents and new visitors to the city center.
