INFO CENTRUM VLTAVA

Nikola Šmoldas

Annotation

The Holubička Park in Klárov still functions today as an informative public space thanks to the miniature brutalist buildings in Prague by artist Kryštof Kintera. I wanted to continue this idea and I took the building of the information centre as a complementary building, which houses exhibition spaces on the ground floor and a café with a terrace on the 2nd floor. The question was what to put in the public space to make it fun/interactive and enriching for tourists and locals in a non-violent way. After landscaping, a 1:200 scale water feature of the Vltava River was created, meandering across the property to make staying pleasant during hot summer days. Around the Vltava is a low concrete relief map depicting fortified Prague in 1856. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
