Pigeon tower

Annotation

The former tower water tower was built in 1928. This structure was used to supply steam locomotives and was part of the railway station Roudnice nad Labem. After 1958 it was used to supply water to the town and after 1989 it was abandoned. The building is situated in a prime location between two elements. To the north of the property is the river Elbe, and from the south are the railway tracks. The tower was used by industry for a long time, but people abandoned it. Today the site has been appropriated by nature, specifically pigeons. Pigeon lofts are found in various countries around the world. They often take the form of towers. Formerly they were used for pigeon breeding and as a source of fertilizer.
