Flybox Flora Film School and Student Housing
Annotation
The Flybox project required a building complex that included a film school facility and a student residential housing building, and posed a set of limitations such as limited build up space, since a water tank existed in the site, the construction had to be restricted around it, as well as other existing buildings in the site.
The flora film school and student housing approaches these issues by elevating the building through a structure involving columns, trusses, and a platform, on top of which two new volumes appear. These volumes are made up of organic shapes, which create a contrast between the orthogonal of the below and the curves of the above. The floor plan is resolved through two different typologies of orthogonal or curved walls depending on the necessity of light.
