The village of Horní Světlá in the Liberec Region has a lot in common with light. Apart from its name, it is the last stop on the ascent to Luž, the highest peak of the mountain range of the same name. The local cemetery is situated on the connection line of the surrounding peaks.
What the village completely lacks is not sunshine, but a place where the locals could meet or go to a cultural event. And that is what my project of a community centre is based on. I am also designing a chapel which will form a village square together with the community centre. The original chapel that stood here was demolished in 1949. Outside the village's urban lands, my aim is to upheave the site of the former cemetery, which was razed in the 1960s and the gravestones scattered in the surrounding fields.
