The Otava surroundings

Otava surroundings The history of Písek is inexplicably linked to the Otava River. The town itself was founded thanks to it. Thanks to gold panning, the town got its name and flourished. Over the years, however, the town's relationship with the river has changed. The original buildings that were connected to the river have been removed. In the last century they were replaced by modern buildings, the surrounding area was filled with flood protection measures and Písek gradually began to turn its back on the Otava. The term paper therefore focuses on the areas that have the greatest potential to restore the Otava's significance for the city's inhabitants.
