Conversion of Kasárny Karlín

The project for the revitalization of the rear building of the barracks in Karlín involves the restoration of the historic two-story structure and its integration with the courtyard. The goal is to preserve the historical value of the building while leveraging its potential with modern functional and material solutions. The restored gable roof forms a glazed third floor, bringing natural light and a connection to the courtyard. The façade retains its plaster and historic character. The building features three levels: public spaces on the ground floor, including a café, gallery, and a passageway connecting Jirsíkova Street to the courtyard; a quieter second floor with screening and exercise rooms; and a third floor dedicated to coworking spaces and workshops, complemented by a terrace.
