Former sugar factory. The old factory chimney in the residential area of lower Vršovice. Only a few meters from the railway, just a few meters from the train station and from places where hundreds of people pass by every day. Yet most of them have never seen the sugar factory other than from the train, only as a chimney and a chaotic cluster of buildings partially hidden behind a sound barrier wall.
My project aims to open up the site of the former sugar factory and reintegrate it into the life of the neighborhood. This is done both by changing the function of the existing historical buildings and by adding two residential buildings, a library and shared workshops.
