Annotation

Castle Křivoklát, founded in the 12th century, is among the oldest and most significant medieval castles in the Czech Republic. Known for its Great Tower and triangular layout, the castle played a vital role in the Czech kingdom's history. Originally Gothic, it has undergone numerous reconstructions over its 800-year existence. Recent efforts focused on restoring the lower courtyard, the western wing (a former burgrave building), and the northern wing. The burgrave building was divided into four sections with distinct functions. Gothic windows were reopened, and a wooden staircase was added. A microbrewery now occupies the lowest level. The ground floor remains storage, whereas the first floor features a children's interactive museum. The last floor is designated as a artist studio.
