CONVERSION OF THE KARLIN BARRACKS

The goal of the project is the revitalization of the ground floor of the Karlín Barracks as part of the planned renovation, which aims to transform the building into a facility for art schools. The ground floor features a dynamic public space with a passageway that connects Křižíkova Street with the inner courtyard. An internal arcade along the facade allows for sheltered movement. The spaces include a library, bookstore, gallery, shop, and an information center with access from both the street and the courtyard. Raised windows serve as display windows and offer seating areas. Public lighting and street furniture match a consistent yellow-gold colour scheme, enhancing the pleasant atmosphere.
