KPA RESEARCH HOUSE: ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAINS

The concept of the Research House for our studio consists of three individual components (underground/rest area, on the surface/common room and above the ground/philosophical room, which are interconnected and continuous. The whole complex is located on the tops of the mountains, where thanks to simple shapes there is an interesting contrast between buildings and nature.The highest building is a concrete sphere, which is divided into two halves by a meter-wide glass window that runs along the entire length of the wall. In the middle there are columns that hold the entire upper part. The ground part is a simple block, where there are glass niches in the wall, where it is possible to sit and admire the view. The last part are small capsules, each with a bathroom, bed and storage space.
