HOUSE FOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Graphic’s shell. Sometimes everybody needs an escape from the erratic world, taking a rest from the busy streets, to retrieve in theirs shell, where they can be relaxed and safe. I designed a place that is meant to offer a temporary accommodation as well as a place for graphic creation. It is situated at the location of a former walnut orchard on a steep slope attached to the Na okraji street, in Prague – Petriny quarter. A compact square base conceals a three-storey mass- the living spaces with terraces in the upper two levels and an atelier with a garden entry placed in the lowest floor. The house’s core is made up from a staircase that connects the living quarters with the atelier. The individual levels present a shell, which enclose the core and offers a hide-out for its occupants.
