Joan Miró´s Gallery

I design a gallery dedicated to paintings by the Spanish painter Joan Miró. The gallery is situated in Barcelona, where Miró was born. Miró is assigned to surrealism and abstract art. The gallery building reflects a certain abstraction and geometry of space. The gallery is designed on the principle of a structural plan The concept of the house is based on work with three interconnected bevelled masses in which exhibition spaces are placed. A staircase runs through the main gallery space, connecting the floors. In the underground part of the gallery there is a hall in which the visitor can view a documentary about the painter himself. The second upper floor offers many views of the outdoor exhibition of sculptures and a view of the first level of the gallery.
