The Cottage on a chicken leg

The cottage on a chicken leg is a two-story building primarily serving as the information center of the Dejvice campus, and as a small gallery. The project consists of a "leg", a block inside which the information center is located, and a "cottage", a gallery accessible by an outdoor staircase. The narrower sides of the gallery's facade are entirely made of glass, helping to draw passers-by to the ongoing exhibitions. The gallery creates an overhang above the infopoint, which allows covered outdoor seating. The building is located at the beginning of Technická Street, where it is integrated into an existing avenue of trees. The highly frequented Technická Street offers itself as an ideal place for an information cell, which in turn functions as its entrance gate.
