Anderson Gallery

Dominika Koubová

Annotation

The gallery dedicated to the English painter Jason Anderson is situated in Dorset, the place of his birth. We could call him “contemporary Impressionist", due to his deep inspiration from Impressionism and post-impressionism. The building reflects his creative style, made up of clear and precise shapes. The principle of the structural plan is defined by the supports structures. The entire object is made up of three blocks perpendicular, and stacked on top of each other. The first place to visit is the ground-floor entrance hall, which connects the individual floors and at the same time the cafe, outdoor seating and exhibition space located here. The basement of the building is another exhibition space, which is naturally lit. The main space of the gallery, located on the second floor.
