Kolibal Gallery

This gallery is dedicated to one of the most significant artist in the Czech Republic Stanislav Kolíbal. The building is located in an industrial environment of Ostrava, where Kolíbal used to live. The main inspiration became already mentioned city of Ostrava, Kolíbal´s reliefs and mining, to which was Kolíbal forced after the Second World war. On the first floor there is a lobby with reception and a small cafe. To get underground you must pass through a dark hallway that resembles mining shafts. After that you will get to the main exhibiton space, which is, in contrast, full of light because of the skylight and atrium, from which, by elevator, you will get back up to the first floor.
