House for Lukas Jaburek

Karolína Zdařilová

Annotation

This family house is designed for Czech glass designer Lukas Jaburek. The building is trying to preserve the north views from the street and merge into the surroundings. That is obtained by a sloping wall and gradual lowering of the floors. It emphasizes the supply of natural light despite the unfortunate orientation of the plot to the north. On the street level there is a covered street parking and a meeting room of the atelier. We can get to the lower level terrace by a narrow staircase. There we have a entrance to the private work place of the studio. There are also stairs which go up to the green roof. The last staircase gets us to the lowest level where can be found the residental area of the building.
