House for Pénelope

Annotation

The goal of the entire project was to capture, using the mass of the house, Penelope's feelings and moods experienced while waiting for her lover. Already in the early stages of the project, I wanted to express not only this important stage, but also the life together of Penelope and Odysseus after his return. From this idea follows the principle of an emphatic division of the house into two halves. The right half represents the life of a lonely Penelope. For this reason, there is no visual connection with the surrounding world, only views of the sea with the possibility to look forward to Odysseus' return. The left half depicting their life together is designed as the exact opposite. The minimal boundary between interior and exterior is disturbed only by a few walls placed for precise rea
