Spa in the hill

Jachym Gregor

Annotation

Just as the fog drifts in hazy hills, a person can pass through them. The inspiration for my work was Kazuo Ishiguro's book, "A Pale View of Hills,". The main part of the spa consists of three cascading pools that lead to the fourth pool, located on the edge of the hill just in front of the front window overlooking the valley. This view is illuminated by a pyramidal skylight, indicating the direction the visitor is heading. Pyramid skylights throughout the space guide light to important parts of the structure. All skylights are tilted, so from the uppermost pool, the visitor sees only a portion of them on the ceiling. The skylights decrease in size with the slope, creating the impression of tiny hills when viewed from below.
