Pavilion of the Future Climate | Drying Up

Stepan Hnízdil

Annotation

If I had another 100 years and discovered my view on climate change was wrong, I'd be glad. Unfortunately, that option is unlikely. I anticipate worsening climate, rising temperatures, and surroundings drying up. Inspired by Inca berry deformation, the pavilion, with three spaces, uses sprayed concrete for a sense of deformation. Segments create uncertainty until a barrier. Visitors decide whether to act. Denying mistakes leads to acceptance of demise. Rectifying mistakes leads underground, symbolizing a challenging task, and into a bright space symbolizing hope and blossoming. Three phases: deformation, hope, and blossoming.
