THE LIFE OF A BOOK

The project called The Life of a Book was created in connection with an architectural competition in the town of Vimperk, located in the Šumava region. Here is an abandoned printing complex built in the 19th century by Johann Steinbrenner. The pavilion is intended to present the resulting designs to the city's inhabitants and the broad public. A visitor is first met with perhaps a somewhat strange sight. A wall covers the other side of the garden, just as a book hide a story inside. Walking through the pavilion itself, the visitor can experience such a story in a cosy atmosphere, surroundedby books. At the end of the journey, a view of the future awaits in the form of an exhibition of competition entries. — In collaboration with Vojtěch Prockert and Alexandra Balenčinová
