Annotation

This semester's assignment aimed to abstract the landscape of my heart, namely the valley of the village of Bindt in Slovakia, and to exploit the essence of this place in the now-disused retention basin near Kladno. I achieved this primarily by working with the terrain to create the impression of a small valley welcoming visitors into its arms. Thanks to the different height levels, the reservoir would be usable even if water were to linger in it - a celestial pond would be created at the lowest level. As Bindt is surrounded by wild woodland, I have brought an element of untamed nature into the reservoir by defining areas of managed succession. As a symbol of the villagers' generosity, I decided to place small apple trees, these will provide a sense of approachability and security.
