The sparkle of a pearl mussel

My jewellery is inspired by the freshwater pearl mussel, which often has a sparkling pearl hidden in it. Similary to the pear mussel, an optical prism is embedded in a semi-ellipsoid that mimics a shell, which creates a spectrum of colour using dichroic filters. This effect is visible not only in the earring itself, but also projected onto the face of the wearer.
