The Spiral

The Spiral lighthouse is located on the sunny coast of southern Italy. The ground plan is a golden ratio, the staircase leading to the lighthouse tower copies its spiral. Inside the building there is a simple "hut" with an entrance hall, a bathroom and a main room that serves as a kitchen, dining room and bedroom. There is also a large window that provides an unobstructed view of the sea. By extending the ceiling and perimeter walls, shade is created inside even at noon, when the sun is strongest. The structure of the lighthouse is reinforced concrete, the surface is made of light-colored concrete, the color of which matches the stone surroundings of the seaside.
