Admission Procedure

At the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU it is possible to study in three follow-up Master's degree programmes: Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture and Design. Here you will find all important dates and admission documents.

Studies in Master’s degree programs are subject to tuition fees. Please refer to Tuition fees website.

essential INFORMATION

Application

The application must be submitted electronically at www.prihlaska.cvut.cz within the given deadline. The application fee is 900 CZK. The electronic application must include scans of the documents listed below, which the applicant must submit in a certified copy in case of enrolment.

Portfolio

A portfolio in A3 format with a maximum of 30 pages in electronic form in pdf format with a maximum size of 50 MB must contain documentation of selected school projects (studios and projects with the name of the supervisor), other projects of an architectural, urban, landscape or design nature, developed by the applicant independently or in team (in this case, a specification of the applicant's share of work on the given project, confirmed by the project co-author, is required).

The portfolio must be accompanied by:

  • a structured CV
  • a letter of motivation
  • an affidavit of the applicant's authorship of the works submitted

Oral Interview

The committee assesses the quality of the content and the form of the applicants' submitted portfolios. Furthermore, during the oral interview, the knowledge and abilities of the applicants acquired in their bachelor's studies, as well as the general outlook and experience gained during their studies, during professional practice or due to their interest in the field, will be verified and assessed, including the level of the applicants' overall expression and the presentation of the results achieved.

The oral interview can take place online.

English Language Proficiency

Proof of a knowledge of English language for study enrollment

  • a TOEFL certificate (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 550 (paper test), or 213 (computer test), or 80 (internet test)
  • an IELTS certificate (academic version) with an overall score of at least 6.0. 
  • a Cambridge English Qualifications - C1 Advanced
  • The certificate can be replaced by proof of completion of a bachelor's or master's study program in English.

Evidence of Previous Education - Nostrification

If the applicant completes the admission procedure successfully and is proposed for admission, he or she must provide evidence of the achievement of a bachelor's degree in the same or a related field

Visa

After being accepted for studies in the Czech Republic, you must apply to the Czech Embassy in your country for a visa if needed. Students arriving for a period longer than 90 days apply for a long-term residence permit for study purposes. The whole procedure for obtaining a visa for study purposes can take 60–90 days, so we recommend applying for the visa well in advance.
