The admission procedure for doctoral studies has started

The Faculty of Architecture of the CTU opens admissions for doctoral studies in the academic year 2022/2023. Interested students can choose from three programmes and almost a hundred subject areas. Applications are open until 30. 4. 2022.  

Those interested can apply for the programmes: 

• Architecture and Urbanism (field: Architecture, Theory and Creation; History of Architecture and Monument Conservation; Urban Design and Spatial Planning; Architecture, Building and Technology; Landscape Architecture) 
• Design (field: Industrial design) 
• Smart Cities 

In addition to the Ph.D. degree, students will gain the background of the largest Czech technical university. They will have a unique opportunity to participate in research at the Faculty of Architecture, travel abroad for internships and conferences, start their own publishing activities and future scientific and academic career.  

The work of a PhD student offers the opportunity to devote oneself intensively to a topic of one's own interest. At the same time, studying is an opportunity to educate oneself in the methods of scientific work that can be applied in future professional life. "Although doctoral studies are generally rather solitary, at the faculty it is also possible to work in a team and participate in existing research projects, or to apply for a grant with colleagues for your own project," says Klára Ullmannová, a doctoral student at the Department of Theory and History of Architecture. 

FA CTU offers a doctoral study programme in Czech and English. The standard duration of study is 4 years, about thirty PhD students are admitted each year. All necessary information can be found in the attached Dean's Decree and on the doctoral studies website. The topics of the PhD programme are available on the PhD website.

The deadline for applications is 30. 4. 2022, language tests and interviews will take place on 15. 6. 2022.
