The FA will have an ombudsman. Four candidates will present their projects

At the public meeting of the Academic Senate of the FA CTU on 17 October, four candidates who applied for the selection procedure will present their visions of the functioning of the Institute of the FA Ombudsman. Their concepts are already available to the academic community.

The faculty announced the selection procedure in June and is the first CTU faculty to establish this institute. The role of the ombudsman will be to create a space for dialogue and confidential assistance on issues of ethics, culture, learning and working environment, and abuse of power. It is intended to be a mediator of conflict situations and will help to facilitate communication between the parties involved and can thus contribute to finding an appropriate solution.

"We think it is important not only to help individual people, but also to systematically monitor more general needs or problems, which will provide feedback to the school's management, which will then be able to respond in some way," explains Klára Brůhová of the Equal Opportunities Committee, which is behind the preparation of this new position at the FA CTU.

The selection process resulted in four candidates who will apply for the position of Faculty Ombudsman. Among the requirements for their qualifications were, among other things, a university degree of at least a bachelor's degree and experience working in the social, human rights or psychological or pedagogical fields. Experience in mediation, crisis intervention or a background in psychology, social work, sociology, andragogy, gender studies, law or related fields could be an advantage.

The candidates will present their strategies at the public meeting of the Academic Senate of the FA CTU, which will be held on 17 October 2022 at 5 pm in seminar room 112/113. Subsequently, the members of the AS will recommend to the Dean for appointment a new FA CTU Ombudsman. The materials are available for the academic community to view by logging in via the following link:

STRATEGIES FOR VIEWING
