The exhibition will take place from 4 to 8 October 2023. The theme and conceptual link of the entire festival is Journey. The exhibition in the Trade Fair Palace will present successful designs from the Reborn Design 2023 competition and the work of the Department of Design of the FA CTU.

FA designers will offer a glimpse into the future of design innovation. The exhibition showcases the approaches to teaching, the diversity of studios and the wide range of topics that students can explore at our faculty. "Our goal is to showcase the distinctive way we nurture talent, encourage innovation and spark creativity in our students," says Prof. Marian Karel, Head of the Department of Design.

Four works from the Šulc-Jež studio will be exhibited at the Trade Fair Palace: a working lamp by Karolína Hamplová, a vacuum splint that helps transport animals for treatment by Markéta Ptáčková, camping furniture by Matěj Nedvěd and a rescue backpack by Michaela Říhová. Vojtěch Veverka from the Jaroš-Bednář studio will complement the exhibition with sports equipment combining skis and sledges for transporting cargo. The Karel-Šafařík studio will be represented by Natálie Horská with a design of a voice-controlled robot, which we wrote about in an interview for the FA website.

Two works will be presented by the Streit-Polák studio. Chest binder for trans people by Robin Doleček - you can read an interview with him here and innovative belt buckle čOčka by Martina Wimmerová. Also on display will be a golf cart design by Martin Boukal from the Tvarůžek-Bláha studio and a collection of foam animals by Alžběta Veličková from the Fišer-Nezpěváková studio.

The regular presentation of our students at Designblok this year will be complemented by the winning projects of the Reborn Design competition, which were created in the Fišer-Nezpěváková studio. The assignment was to design products that students had to design in such a way that they would use at least 95% of the material that would end up as waste in a landfill. The purpose of the challenge is to reduce waste, conserve resources and minimise the carbon footprint of products.

The exhibition will present the winners in the individual categories of the challenge (Recycled PET, Experimental Design, Recycled Building Material, Experimental Design from Mycelium). On display will be a practically oriented festival table by Karolina Petřeková, seating bags by Tereza Cvrčková, a colourful ping-pong set by students Tereza Johnová and Antonia Varju, acoustic panels by Wavy Pebble Barbara Rakovská and a board for people with reduced mobility by Vojtěch Vydržel. He was also successful in the competition with his design for coffins and urns for dead animals Mykofin, which won the public vote.
