Lucia Tóthová studied Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, where she defended her diploma project with her first solo exhibition on post-war architecture in Czechoslovakia. Her current doctoral research focuses on the functioning of design departments and their studios in the second half of the 20th century in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In addition to her own SGS, she participates in NAKI projects (Architecture of the 1980s, Stavoprojekt 1948-1953), participates in the Academic Competition, IP project, and completed an Erasmus doctoral internship in Eindhoven. She has published chapters in FA books and independently, including an impact article. In addition, she continues to exhibit her work, which is also linked to her current research.  In her hometown she organizes thematic exhibitions and events related to local post-war architecture. She participated with an artistic intervention in the last Venice Architecture Biennale. In her role as graphic designer she prepared the EAAE workshop proceedings, the book Architecture on the Red List, several exhibitions on post-war architecture at the FA and an exhibition of Le Corbusier's models.

"Working at the Department of Theory and History of Architecture is a dream come true for me in many ways. The fact that my supervisor and the head of the department Petr Vorlík, together with the dean Dalibor Hlaváček, nominated me for the award surprised me completely. This moment motivated me a lot to take on other challenges and I am very grateful for it," she added about the award.

This year, the prize was awarded to: Jakub Šurovský (FSv), Petr Červenka (FS), Lukáš Nejezchleb (FEL), Daniela Opočenská (FJFI), Radim Dvořák (FD), Christiane Malá (FBMI), Dominik Soukup (FIT) and Alexandra Svobodová (MÚVS).

The award was established in 2017 by the board of the CTU Stanislav Hanzel Foundation to fulfil and further deepen the legacy of the first post-socialist rector of the university. It is awarded annually to students of CTU on the proposal of individual faculties. The prerequisite is excellent grades and participation in the Student Grant Competition or other significant activity. Awarded students also receive a financial reward.
