Lijun Chen is a lecturer in Design and independent designer. She is pursuing her PhD at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Her research focuses on Transition Design, and is integrated into the areas of Social Design, System Innovation, Sustainable Design, and Inclusive Design in the context of addressing the wellbeing of older people and sustainable transitions in communities. She is on the faculty of the Loc-globalisation Research Studio at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China. She has also previously worked as a lecturer in product design, head of international office, Cumulus coordinator at the Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology.
In 2016, she curated the exhibition at the Shunyi Branch of Beijing International Design Week. She has been shortlisted for the 2023 iF Design Student Award and won numerous national and international awards including IAI Design Award, “Designnova” China International Youth Designers Competition, G Cross Design Award and Beijing International Design Week, etc. and has participated in many large-scale exhibitions at domestic and international level nearly 20 exhibitions. Her works are included in Creativity 150 and China Environmental Design Yearbook.
