Affordable Housing

The assignment was to design affordable community housing for different social, age and group categories. The main priority is the creation of a pleasant environment that not only manages to enrich a given neighborhood, but which also creates an oasis of tranquility and is a refuge from today's hurried world. Another important point is sustainability – not only economic, but also environmentally friendly. We live in a time when the demand for greenery in the urban structure is increasing. Especially in big cities like Berlin. But the problem is the spatial demands of new parks or gardens. One solution is to set up green elements directly within buildings, using green facades or green roofs. Another priority of green architecture is the reduction of thermal losses of the building, heat recovery and the use of alternative energy sources.
