SANDQUARRY BRNO - ČERNOVICE

Mining in the sandstone quarry in Černovice has been going on for almost 100 years and is still going on. The gradual restoration of the quarry and its surroundings will take place in several phases simultaneously with mining. The resulting area will take the form of a city-wide park responding to the specific topography after mining and to the natural resources. The proposal aims to promote biodiversity and the restoration of the post-mining landscape, while also offering space for people and their needs. The tool to achieve an ideal state in the territory is constructed nature. This study seeks to introduce target habitats of natural character in the study area.
