Annotation

This thesis deals with the tradition of tea and the cultural history of enjoying this drink. It examines the context of traditions and current customs within society. In many cultures, drinking tea holds significant symbolism, which is connected with the art of communication and represents a kind of a social event. The design reflects a comparison of the tradition of tea in Japanese and Czech culture. The body of work focuses on the design of a tea gaiwan and a tea cup. The thesis describes the technological procedures and proposals as well as user comments of so-called tea lovers during the progress of the design.
