REVITALIZATION OF SOKOLOV

The diploma thesis focuses on the urban design of Sokolov in the context of the gradual closure of surface mines and the revitalization of the surrounding landscape. The final proposal consists of an overall vision and conceptual solution of a broader territory and a specific urban design for the central area of the city. The design proposes new connections within the centre and also within its wider surroundings, including a connection to the proposed lake Družba - Jiří. The proposal creates new opportunities within the rebuilt areas of residential and industrial areas.
