DOG SHELTER

Mezitratí - a deserted place in the extended centre of Prague, cut off from the rest of the city by a railway line. I'm trying to breathe new life into it. That's why I propose not only a dog shelter, but a whole area where a person can find everything their dog needs. There's plenty of space and the people of Prague will appreciate it. The heart of the design is a large informal field where children, dogs and adults can run around. It is surrounded by a path lined with trees and houses - a veterinary clinic, a pet shop, a dog salon, a café, a dog school, a dog crematorium and, of course, a shelter. In my opinion, shelters should serve primarily dogs, so I try to evoke their natural environment as much as possible. I divide the shelter into several smaller buildings surrounded by vegetation. But finding a use for Mezitratí is not enough. I'm trying to make it more attractive. It's necessary to take attention away from the pair of overpasses that run through it. I am therefore giving the whole design a distinctive colour scheme. Although the individual objects are different, they use the same means of expression. As a result, they form a coherent whole that dominates the site and the overpasses suddenly don't seem so important anymore.
