Nursing Home Šolínova

The Spike House is a reaction to the phenomenon of excluding a particular demographic from society. The location of most nursing homes behind the city boundaries - viz. out of the urban environment - could be interpreted as a symptom of this phenomenon. I am convinced that generational diversity should be considered a cherishable and fundamentally good quality of any society. The typological diversity within urban sectors should be a key principle providing comfortable accommodation for every single individual. Elderly people belong to society, therefore nursing homes belong to the city.
