ČERVENÝ KOSTELEC - RESTRUCTURING OF THE CITY CENTRE

The aim of the thesis is to design a new urban district in the centre of the city near the main square, which has become the biggest barrier in the city under the pressure of traffic. The project explores the possibility of transforming the central area of the city while modifying the road network, building quality public spaces and the subsequent positive growth of the intensive urban fabric around it. The project responds to the current problems of contemporary Czech smaller cities, burdened by car traffic in the specific proenvironment of Červený Kostelec.
