ADAPTIVE REUSE OF PALACE OF CULTURE IN BANSKA BYSTRICA

The diploma thesis on the adaptive reuse of the Palace of Culture is made in the form of a dislocation study and the concept of the restoration of the entire building. The diploma thesis was preceded by a diploma seminar in the form of a building historical survey and thorough analysis. The Palace of Culture is an atrium monoblock located in the center of Banská Bystrica. The space created by the building, its position in the urban plan and its fulfillment are important urban elements that must be preserved. Currently, the building is closed and unused, but it has great potential, which would be a shame not to use it. The buildings of the second half of the 20th century belong to our culture and we should not neglect them.
