Ákos Moravánszky: Material Truth vs. Clothing Principle

Lecture at FA

A lecture by a Hungarian architect and historian of architecture working at the ETH University in Zurich as part of the For the Truth project, prepared in cooperation with GJF, the Institute of Art History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and FA CTU. Moravánszky referred to Gottfried Semper's theory of material transformation and clothing theory in the nineteenth century, and in contrast to this he introduced the concept of “material truth” in order to contribute to the discussion of material strategies in contemporary architecture.
