Hostel in the Barn, Přepeře in Turnov region

The aim of the project was to find a new use for the uniquely preserved farmstead in Přepeře, while trying to minimize radical structural interventions. The adjacent barn is changed into a hostel, which is targeted at water sports fans and on yoga and meditation groups. The structural modifications consist in the construction of modular units with bathrooms within the grid defined by the original columns. The new façade has large windows with sliding shutters made of vertical wood planks that help preserve the authentic character of the barn. The layout of the main farm house remains practically unchanged and it is used as common premises.
