Annotation

The project deals with a pair of residential buildings separated by a courtyard. This mini-complex is part of a newly built block in the Kreuzberg, Berlin. Both buildings are clearly defined in shape, and in addition to the indisputable advantages, it also generates numerous complications. We decided to respond to them with a diverse range of non-traditional apartments. An essential connecting elements are arches located on the ground floor, which respond not only to the nearby Oberbaumbrücke, but also to the history of arcade architecture as such. Another unmissable unifying feature is the material design. Clinker, together with the earlier mentioned arches, settles the house in a district whose character is from the architectural point of view rather traditional to historical.
