BETWEEN HILLS, PELC - TYROLKA, PRAGUE

Viktor Kirschner

Annotation

A significant motive for the whole area is the significant traffic situation in the form of barriers. The urban design does not change the existing transport, but works with it. Newly designed high-rise buildings are deliberately chosen to establish a balance between significant roads and buildings. The morphology of the area results from two opposite distinctive hills, which are connected by the design. The area is structurally influenced by the surrounding diverse buildings, which the proposal seeks to integrate. In terms of density, the design follows and continues the structure of buildings from the northeastern part. In terms of future use, the proposal leaves the useful functions partially undefined and at the same time supports functions that already exist in the area.
